I have been involved in one way or another with recruitment for more years than I care to remember, certainly 25 or so. I find the industry fascinating, fun, fast-paced and never dull!
Starting out as a contingency recruiter I moved into management, then co-founded a very early recruitment outsourcing business. Along the way I’ve also provided search (head hunting) and selection services to clients, worked in-house, managed my own training business and most recently I work as a management consultant to the recruitment industry still with a strong involvement in learning and development but really getting involved in anything to do with people, performance and recruitment operations.
I have a first honours degree in European Business, a teaching qualification and a Masters in Organisational Consultancy, written two books on recruitment (one of which has gone into its second edition) numerous articles and even been on the red sofa of Breakfast TV talking about the skills of the modern graduate employee!
Over the years I have developed some very long-standing working relationships with clients which I find hugely rewarding most recently I have gravitated to working with more senior people.
Much of my present focus is on leadership teams and recruitment managers, both agency-side and in-house from a training, consulting and coaching perspective. Two exciting more recent projects have been membership of the steering group at Henley Business School to develop the MBA in International Recruitment and developing and delivering an on-going senior leadership programme for over sixty recruitment Directors for one of the leading global recruiters.
Fortunate enough to divide my time between the wonderful North Norfolk coast at the weekends I focus more on work in London most weekdays .
I have been privileged to work with some truly inspirational people over the years, have learnt, and continue to learn, huge amounts from these relationships and am always open to having a chat about how I might help other clients.
So if you’d like to discuss how I might work with your business do get in touch – check out my LinkedIn recommendations for what some of my recent clients have to say.
